Algharbia farms shakshouka recipe


  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 onion cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 2 ripe tomatoes chopped
  • Pita bread


  1. Heat olive oil in deep skillet over medium heat
  2. Stir in the garlic, onions and bell peppers until onions have softened and turned translucent (About 5 minutes)
  3. Add the tomatoes and stir while squishing the tomatoes and simmer for about 25 minutes
  4. Crack an egg into a bowl and slowly pour it into the tomato sauce, repeat with the remaining eggs
  5. Cook eggs until whites are firm and the yolks have thickened (3 minutes)
  6. If tomato sauce gets dry, add a few tablespoons of water
  7. Remove eggs with a slotted spoon and put on a plate
  8. Serve with tomato sauce and pita bread
